The Peanut Gallery
Google contacted me to be a part of a fun secret project that they were putting together to help showcase their Speech API in the most recent Chrome update. They would build a site that allowed you to voice the words in a silent movie, and the Speech API would insert them as dialogue cards throughout the movie. I am lucky enough to have a good amount of fun projects cross my desk over the year, but this one got me so excited I nearly fell off my seat! It reminded me of when I was in college and two of my friends used to sit in their dorm room, put on old westerns, and then spend all night making up what the people on screen were saying. The end result is super fun, and I was able to art direct the project as well as create branding elements, flourishes, and lettering pieces for the end cards. Check it out here, the site only works in the latest version of Chrome.
